Arraigo familiar (family settlement)
This settlement basis was separated into a distinct type after the introduction of new regulations in May 2025. It does not require a minimum stay in Spain of 2 years and only applies to a specific circle of family ties without proof of financial support.
Who is eligible
Parents or guardians of a minor citizen of EU, EEA, or Swiss countries residing in Spain
Family members caring for a relative with a disability who is a citizen of EU, EEA, or Swiss countries
Main requirements
live together in Spain and provide parental care (in the case of children) or care for a relative (in the case of a relative with a disability)
List of required documents
Completed and signed form EX-10
Copy of all pages of a valid passport (or other identity document)
Certificate of no criminal record issued by the authorities of the country or countries where you have resided for 5 years prior to entering Spain
Documents confirming joint residence with the child or relative with a disability
Modelo 790 052 receipt and proof of state fee payment
For parents/guardians of a minor:
child's birth certificate confirming their citizenship and family ties, or a legally executed document on guardianship of the minor
For a person providing care for a relative with a disability:
identity card of a citizen of another EU, EEA member state, or Switzerland
documents confirming the person's disability or need for support measures
