Spain Tax Calculator for the Self-Employed

How much you keep after IRPF income tax and social security — for autónomos, in every region, at 2026 rates.

What the calculator covers

The calculator shows how much a self-employed worker (autónomo) in Spain keeps after income tax (IRPF) and social security contributions (RETA). It works step by step, like the tax return:

  • Profit — income minus business expenses, RETA contributions and 5 % for expenses without receipts (up to €2,000 a year).

  • RETA contributions — one of 15 brackets based on income, from €206 to €607 a month on the bracket’s minimum base. Newcomers pay the reduced €88.64 rate (tarifa plana).

  • IRPF income tax — the state scale plus your region’s scale, personal and family allowances, a joint return when it is cheaper, and the 20 % reduction in the first two years with profit.

  • Tax deductions — regional deductions for a birth and for renting your home, the €1,200 maternity deduction, and private health insurance up to €500 per person.

  • Payments during the year — the monthly fee, quarterly advance payments (modelo 130) and the balance to pay or refund with the spring tax return.

The 2026 rates come from the laws and the official guides of the tax agency (AEAT) and social security. All 15 common-regime regions are covered; the Basque Country and Navarre, with their own tax systems, are not yet.

The result is an estimate, not tax advice.
