Vida laboral is an official report from Spain's social security system, Seguridad Social, which reflects your entire employment history: periods of employment, employers, types of contracts, and social security contributions. Essentially, it is one of the key documents confirming your legal professional experience in the country.
Vida laboral is often required when dealing with administrative matters: from applying for benefits to confirming professional experience. This document is especially important when preparing to apply for various types of residence permits in Spain — Digital Nomad, Cuenta Propia, Arraigo sociolaboral or the new extraordinary legalization program that came into effect on April 15, 2026.
In this guide, we'll explain how to obtain vida laboral online through the Seguridad Social website. This process will only take a couple of minutes, however, to access the system you will need Cl@ve or an electronic certificate (Certificado digital). Step-by-step instructions for requesting a Vida laboral employment activity report
Step 1. Go to the official Seguridad Social website and select the required reports section
Follow the link https://portal.seg-social.gob.es/wps/portal/importass/importass and select the section VIDA LABORAL E ONFORMES on the main page
On the next page, select the employment history report INFORME DE TU VIDA LABORAL
Next, click on the button CONSULTAR VIDA LABORAL
Step 2. Select the appropriate identification method in the service
Select the first option and click on the button CONTINUAR
In the next window, click on the identification method suitable for you via electronic certificate or Cl@ve
Step 3. Download the report
In the next window, a generated report of your employment activity in Spain will open. To download it, click on the button DESCARGAR VIDA LABORAL
