List of Documents for Applicants in Illegal Status

  • Application form EX-32 for each applicant (main applicant and family member, including children)

  • Full copy of valid passport (there are exceptions for citizens of Belarus and Venezuela) or cédula de inscripción

  • Documents confirming entry to Spain before January 1, 2026 (passport stamp, entry declaration, boarding pass, etc.)

  • Documents confirming continuous residence in Spain for a minimum of 5 months at the time of application, for example:

  • historical registration certificate (certificado histórico de empadronamiento) for 5+ months

  • invoices for home internet/mobile phone/utilities

  • medical reports and certificates

  • bank statements with transactions in Spain

  • visits to Spanish government agencies

  • transport cards/gym memberships/tickets to events and trips within Spain, etc.

When collecting documents, follow this principle: 1 document confirming your stay in Spain for each month. Each document provided must contain your details: full name, NIE/passport number.

  1. Criminal record certificates from the country of origin and all countries where the applicant lived >6 months in the last 5 years before entering Spain certificate issue date no older than 3 months

  2. Receipt of payment of state fee TASA 790 052: for adults — item 2.3.1 (38.28 euros); for children — item 2.1.5 (10.94 euros)

  3. Additionally, it is necessary to provide documents for the chosen basis of legalization:

if the basis "employment activity" is chosen (one of the three documents below):

  • employment contract or pre-contract for work for a period of at least 90 days per year, signed by employee and employer

  • proof of work experience in Spain as an employee or as autonomo (Vida Laboral)

  • declaration of intention to be self-employed indicating the code of future activity according to the classifier (section 6 in form EX-32)

if the basis "family ties" is chosen:

  • proof of family relationship: marriage/birth certificate jurado-translation + apostille or pareja registration certificate

  • certificate of joint registration with family members (certificado de padrón familiar)

  • notarized consent of the second parent or proof of sole custody (in case of separate residence) jurado-translation + apostille

  • certificate from school confirming school-age child's enrollment (certificados de escolarización)

if "vulnerable situation" grounds are selected:

  • vulnerability report (Informe de Vulnerabilidad), certified by social services/accredited NGOs from the registry

Technical requirements for documents

  • The total size of all uploaded files must not exceed 15 MB, and the maximum size of a single file cannot be more than 6 MB

  • Provide clear scans of documents, not photos

  • Format of uploaded documents: pdf, jpg, tif, gif

  • Scans of pages from one document must be combined into a single file (for example, all passport pages in one pdf file)
