Arraigo de segunda oportunidad (second chance)
This simplest type of settlement in terms of requirements was introduced by the new regulation in May 2025. It doesn't require contracts, money in the account, or social integration reports.
Who it's suitable for:
You previously had any other type of Spanish residence permit (except settlement), but it became invalid because:
you didn't apply for its renewal on time — within 3 months from the permit's expiration date
you applied for its renewal on time, but received a rejection
List of required documents
Completed and signed application form EX-10
Copy of all pages of valid passport (or other identity document)
Documents confirming continuous residence in Spain for at least 2 years (registration certificate/bank statements/medical certificates/certificates from educational institutions/contracts and invoices, etc.)
Certificate of no criminal record issued by the authorities of the country or countries where you lived for 5 years before entering Spain
Documents confirming the fact of previous residence permit (copy of decision or previous TIE card)
Receipt Modelo 790 052 and proof of state fee payment
The final list of documents may vary depending on the province where the application is submitted
